Last weekend I had great pleasure in hosting a family who are doing it a bit tough at the moment to the V8's at Winton. I came across a story about Joshua McLennan, a little boy who has developed a very rare disease (read about Joshua below) a few weeks ago in the school newsletter that came home in one of my kids school bags. So i decided that it would be a good thing for us to tap into our V8 sponsorship and give something back to the community. When I first made contact with Joshua’s family about being our guest for the day they were very emotional and could not believe the offer I had made them. They really like the V8's and watch it whenever they can but have never had the opportunity to attend a race meet.

So on Saturday I decked them all out with FPR hats, got them into the pits and also organised some one on one time for the kids with FPR V8 drivers, Mark ”Frosty” Winterbottom & Will Davison. I also took the opportunity to get an FPR shirt signed by both drivers which will be used as an auction piece this weekend to help raise some funds for young Joshua.

Since the weekend I have had several people come up to me and say what a great gesture it was for L&H to do, the family were so appreciative that we could take their minds off their situation for one day. It's amazing how good news can spread so quickly around the town.

I have to say that this was one of the most enjoyable and memorable things I could have ever done. I have had plenty of opportunities with L&H and consider myself very fortunate to have done some of the things I have since joining the company. I felt that this was an opportunity for L&H to tap into the V8 sponsorship we have and give something back to the community.

Lastly I have to say a big thank you to Rochelle from marketing who helped me achieve this, plus a very special thank you to Sophie at FPR who took us in for the day and made sure that Joshua and his family got every opportunity to experience what the V8's is all about
