Last Friday we officially opened our newest branch, L&H Castlemaine, about an hour and half north west of Melbourne. On a bright Autumn day, the town of Castlemaine came out to support the only electrical wholesaler in town with over 150 people attending the opening.

Stuart Johansen, Branch Manager, was elated with the opening. “It was great to see so many people attended, and with the fantastic support of our suppliers (20 in attendance), we managed to get strong sales for the day, hand out many account applications and get to know the whole Castlemaine community” Stuart said.

Castlemaine is a big hot rod and V8 town so the local people were delighted to see that Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom from FPR ventured up the highway with his race car and spent some time at the branch. “It was great to have Frosty come along. He was a big success with our customers, many of whom bought their kids to meet Mark and get an autograph.” Stuart said.

Castlemaine branch has been operational since January 2011. The branch was opened in the area to service the strong local business community, previously serviced by our Bendigo or Ballarat branches. As the only wholesaler in town, Stuart and his team have made great in-roads in the local community and allowed the branch to be performing strongly in its first few months of operating.
